A four-alarm fire in Bayonne forced 23 people out of their homes on Monday evening.

The fire broke out at around 7 p.m. on Monday in a residential area on West 20th Street. Four homes were affected by the blaze, which quickly escalated to a four-alarm fire.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and fought to contain the fire, which was challenging due to the close proximity of the homes. The fire was brought under control after several hours, but not before displacing the 23 people who lived in the affected homes.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries from the fire. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

Local authorities are assisting the displaced residents in finding temporary housing arrangements. The Red Cross is also providing aid to those affected by the fire.

The community has come together to support the families who lost their homes in the fire. Donations and offers of assistance have been pouring in from neighbors and local organizations.

The fire serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and preparedness. It is crucial for residents to have working smoke alarms and to have an evacuation plan in place in case of emergencies.
