BOSTON – Seven people were injured when the third-floor porch of a student apartment building collapsed in Boston on Saturday night.
According to authorities, the incident occurred in the area of Commonwealth Avenue and Harvard Avenue in Allston. The porch collapsed around 10:30 p.m., sending several people plummeting to the ground.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported the injured individuals to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the collapse, but it is believed that overcrowding on the porch may have been a contributing factor.
