Новые исследования показывают, что люди, несущие 2 копии определенного гена, более подвержены развитию болезни Альцгеймера.

Недавно проведенное исследование показало, что носители двух копий гена APOE4 имеют значительно более высокий риск развития болезни Альцгеймера. Этот ген влияет на метаболизм холестерина и связан с патологическими изменениями в мозге, характерными для данного заболевания.

Ученые изучили данные более чем 47 000 человек и обнаружили, что носители 2 копий гена APOE4 имеют в 14 раз больший шанс развить болезнь Альцгеймера по сравнению с теми, кто несет никаких копий этого гена.

Эти новые данные могут помочь улучшить наши понимание генетических факторов, влияющих на развитие болезни Альцгеймера, и в дальнейшем помогут в разработке новых методов диагностики и лечения этого тяжелого заболевания.
